The Church in the Diocese of Ballarat is a community of disciples of Jesus Christ, made up of a number of communities of disciples, which is called to proclaim the Good News of God's Salvation to all peoples.
As members of the parish communities of the Anglican Diocese of Ballarat, being strengthened and led by God, we declare our intent to continue our journey of renewal, and to commit ourselves to continue the ongoing discernment of who we are in Christ, and what God’s call means to us.
We further declare our intent to explore this Spirit-led renewal in the following areas:
THE EUCHARIST
As the Eucharistic people of God, we are formed as one with and by Christ. We seek to live this reality in our daily lives and by so doing, bring others to know and belong to the Body of Christ.
STEWARDSHIP
As a community of Faith, called to proclaim the Good News to the whole of creation, we commit ourselves to recognising, developing and sharing our God given talents.
SERVICE
As Branches of the one Vine called to imitate the Son of God who washed the feet of his disciples, we commit ourselves to proclaim the Good News through reaching out to all who suffer and in working for justice and peace.
COMMUNITY OF FAITH
As a community of faith united through baptism, we seek to continue Christ’s mission through worship, fellowship, evangelism and the service of others.
WORSHIP
As communities of believers who are strengthened in our faith through our response to God’s love in worship, we seek to grow into Christ that others might encounter Christ in us.
EVANGELISM
As Christ’s ambassadors called to live and proclaim the Good News of salvation, we seek to be channels of God’s grace in the world through our faithfulness to Jesus our Lord.
OUTREACH
As the body of Christ called to proclaim the Good News in the world, we strive by the power of the Holy Spirit to proclaim the Kingdom of God through teaching, sharing the faith and through witnessing to the Gospel.
LEADERSHIP
As the Pilgrim People of God we are all gifted by the Spirit of God, and commit ourselves to discern and use these gifts and ministries that the Church may be faithful to her mission.
THE LAITY
As the people of God called through baptism to participate in Christ’s mission, we commit ourselves to discovering, and giving witness to the power of Christ in all areas of human activity.
THE WORD
As the children of God under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we seek to discern and proclaim the Good News in the Holy Scriptures, that all peoples can come to recognise and celebrate Christ in their lives.
